By the time the Heating and A/C tech arrived at the house, Gram had baked two batches of cookies and I had devoured most of them myself
The a single thing I remember the very most about my Grandma is how there was constantly a wonderful plate of fresh cookies sitting on the table when I walked inside. I never saw her baking them, but I constantly sniffed them and there they were. Whenever someone came to visit our house, she would ask them if they would love to sit down and have a cookie. The one time, she was clearly having some trouble with her oil furnace. It was getting harshly and rapidly cold in the house and the people I was with and I were simply sitting there waiting for the Heating and A/C specialist to arrive. Dad was sitting at the table with Gram while they were waiting in the house with no heat. She asked Dad if she would love to have a cookie at Dave while she waited. Dad said no, but thought it sounded particularly great for me. Gram pulled some frozen cookie dough from the little freezer and turned on the oven. Apparently, she kept cookie dough consistently in the freezer, ready for any occasion. By the time the Heating and A/C tech arrived at the house, Gram had baked two batches of cookies and I had devoured most of them myself. When the Heating and A/C tech was finally finished with the oil furnace, she came in and told my dear Gram that she just needed a minor fix and it was already covered under her service and service plan. Gram pulled out the cookies while asking if she possibly wanted a single while she they were waiting. The Heating and A/C tech kindly told her she had been sniffing them for the last hour and she was hoping she would offer a cookie when she was done with the oil furnace.
