I dislike it when I am attempting to do something wonderful but, it ends up turning around on me. I stopped the other afternoon to help a man with changing his tire. Not only was our help not welcome, he entirely threatened to call the police if I didn’t leave. This is not something that I want to be a part of. So, I simply threw up our hands plus got back in our car. It seems there are a lot more obstacles to just being human anymore. However, I find that attempting to do the right thing at home can have really serious consequences. What happened recently with our Heating, Ventilation & A/C heating plan is a prime example. We use a gas furnace to heat our home while I was in the winter. It has been a great gas furnace plus all of us make sure that it gets the semi annual maintenance required to keep it in tip top shape. However, the gas furnace is only a few years from needing to be replaced according to the Heating, Ventilation & A/C folks. It is still operating well but, it’s start to lose efficiency. This is a surefire indication that the gas furnace is no longer what it once was. We started a separate savings account in order to cover the cost of the replacement in a year or so. However, that looks love that time line got moved up quite significantly. The gas furnace shut off the other afternoon so I tried to fix it by replacing an obviously burned out switch. Well, that was the wrong thing to do because it was not an OEM part. It caused the gas furnace to overheat. Now, it appears that I will be replacing the gas furnace now rather than later because I tried to do the right thing.
