I made a immense mistake when I replaced a switch in our oil furnace

I decided that I was going to work on our oil furnace myself instead of calling to make an appointment with the Heating plus Air Conditioning contractor a couple of months ago, then the weather was really cooling off plus I didn’t want to be stuck in the lake house without a gas furnace with the frigid un-even temperatures outside, i don’t love being cold, that’s for sure.

  • I think a little bit about heating plus cooling systems since my dad used to be an Heating plus Air Conditioning professional back when I was growing up.

I think the bare minimum, at least. I think how to change out air filters plus I think how to replace burned out switches. The complication that I was having with my oil furnace was a burned out switch, plus since I knew how to service that, I decided to do it myself. I’m no certified Heating plus Air Conditioning professional, but I do think how to change out a burned out switch. I just happened to have a single in my garage because I’m consistently ending up with leftover parts from some job or another. I’m a contractor plus so I consistently have pieces plus parts for plumbing, electrical, plus Heating plus Air Conditioning equipment kneeling around the garage. I changed out the switch in the oil furnace plus everything went back to working well. That’s when I realized that changing the switch with a non factory part would void the warranty that I got with the oil furnace when I bought it from the Heating plus Air Conditioning business. I should never have made that repair myself. I know it’s too late now, though… At least it’s working for the time being.
