If there is one overwhelming aspect of my personality, it is that I am a homebody.
- When we had to start a quarantine and self-isolation process, I did not think I would be all that affected.
Well, I haven’t been affected that much; I was right. However, there is one way that I have been affected in a way I hadn’t expected. My cooling bills! My cooling bills have gone up dramatically since I have been home so much more. I do go into the office every other day, which is good, but on the days I stay home, I can no longer go and adjust the thermostat and leave the house. Instead, the thermostat stays right where it was all night and the a/c keeps running and running. All that staying home means I don’t get to sponge off the a/c my employer provides. Even stil, it has been nice to crawl out of bed, grab a cup of coffee, and turn on the computer without even getting dressed. Since I really don’t like getting up in the morning, it has been great getting up ten minutes before being expected to answer the phone or emails that come in. Because of that, I am conflicted about the whole a/c thing and have been weighing the comparisons between the joy of staying home versus the cost of the additional cooling each month. If you are a fan of soaking up the air conditioning that you don’t have to pay for, I hope this lockdown and isolation thing passes by quickly!
